From 29 – 31 August 2025, all roads lead to the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the Festival of Motoring (FOM) – South Africa’s biggest celebration of cars, culture, and pure driving excitement. This is the motoring event of the year, and trust us – it’s going to be bigger, faster, and more thrilling than ever.
With over 100 exhibitors, a lifestyle showcase, family-friendly entertainment, and more than 10,000 test drives lined up, FOM isn’t just another auto show – it’s an adrenaline-fuelled weekend where the automotive world comes alive.
And this year, OMODA and JAECOO are ready to turn heads and steal the show.
What to Expect from OMODA & JAECOO at FOM

Taking centre stage at the OMODA & JAECOO stands will be the all-new OMODA C7 and JAECOO J5. These two models represent the next chapter for the brands: one showcases intelligent hybrid innovation for OMODA, while the other introduces a bold new entry into the compact crossover space for JAECOO.
OMODA C7: Intelligent Hybrid Innovation
The OMODA C7 SHS embodies a fresh vision of electrified mobility, offering drivers both dynamic performance and long-distance practicality. Powered by the brand’s advanced Super Hybrid System (SHS), the C7 combines petrol and electric power to deliver 255 kW and 525 Nm, striking an impressive balance between power and efficiency.
An 18.4 kWh battery enables up to 105 km of pure electric driving, ideal for daily commuting or short urban trips. When needed, the petrol engine ensures a total driving range of over 1,200 km – making long journeys effortless. For added convenience, the C7’s 40 kW fast charging system allows the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
The C7’s design and performance ensure it isn’t just about efficiency – it’s about delivering a confident and exhilarating driving experience that adapts to every lifestyle. While the OMODA C7 will initially launch locally with petrol models, the Super Hybrid System (SHS) version will be on display at FOM, giving visitors a first look at the brand’s electrified innovation.
JAECOO J5: Get Ready to Move Differently.
Expanding JAECOO’s premium crossover lineup, the J5 brings a compact yet confident presence to the road. Its exterior design combines modern styling cues closely related to its bigger sibling – the JAECOO J7 – featuring a distinctive grille, slim headlights, generous ground clearance, and a sleek rear lightbar with the JAECOO nameplate proudly displayed.
Inside, the J5 blends technology with refinement. A best-in-class 13.2-inch touchscreen integrates entertainment and navigation apps, while a 1.45 m² panoramic sunroof – the largest in its class – fills the interior with an aura of space, light, and a sense of freedom.
